Medical Mission 2016 – Nicaragua
This mission was the undertaking of two non-profit organizations in Phoenix, Arizona: Esperanca and Sustainable Outreach Solutions. A group of 27 people including Surgeons, Nurses and support staff spent a week at the Hospital in Rivas, Nicaragua encompassing three specialties: gynecology, general, and urology.
The group performed 50 major surgeries which changed the lives of the patients for the better. Additionally, laparoscopic and other advanced techniques were taught to Nicaraguan doctors so they can continue the work after the team left.
The mission also brought almost $100,000 of supplies and equipment that was either used in surgeries or left at the hospital for future use.
